\"TrishHuge congratulations to Ruth and Trish who have had a stunning win in the New Zealand wide Babich Pairs held on Friday evening, 1 November. This is an event played simultaneously across the country and where X Club scoring means scores are evaluated against all players who have entered and a national ranking is obtained. There were 1012 pairs entered in the competition.
\nWe had 14 pairs in our Rotorua section and not only did Ruth and Trish win our section with 69.35% but when evaluated against all players their X Club score increased to 75.67%. This was more than 6% clear of the second place score! A phenomenal result. Well done hardly does justice to the achievement!
\nGiven the number of entries anywhere in the top 50 is worthy of comment and congratulations.
\nAlan Dick and Heini Lux were 34th with 63.18% and Suellyn Caudwell and Gill Nelson were 44th with 62.67%. By anyone’s reckoning very respectable scores.
\nWe also had some of our novice players enter which was fantastic to see and we hope they enjoyed the experience. They were in very good company!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
