BRIDGE LESSONS 2021
Bridge lessons commence on 10th March 2021. Please encourage any friends and family to participate. Flyers will be available to be posted on notice boards in your work places and any other club you may belong to. We all remember our humble beginnings to the game of bridge and now see the great benefits in joining the bridge club. It’s a challenging card game which no one ever stops learning, plus enables friendships with a whole new group of people.
KELLY PEIRSE MEMORIAL TEAMS
This is our first tournament of 2021 and is being held on Saturday 20 March. There are both raw and handicap prizes. This is a very popular open tournament, so get your teams of 4 together and enter now.
PROPRIETIES
From time to time we all need to be reminded to give consideration to the proprieties of bridge play. These proprieties are listed on page 14 of our programme book. The proprieties include courtesy of bridge play towards partners and opponents, consideration to the rules of play, and slow play. Please can you review these proprieties as listed on page 14, and thus help improve the courtesy of our sessions?
NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER
Val Honeyfield has been co-opted onto our bridge committee. She will be taking on the role of tutoring and retention of players – both existing and new. I have listed the proprieties of play above as our first committee step towards this retention, as each of us can take personal ownership towards improving our playing culture. Welcome to the committee Val, and we look forward to your contribution.
SUGGESTION BOX
Many members step forward with comments/recommendations/improvements they would like to have considered. Please hard copy, email, post, or leave in the suggestion box at the club. They can then be included on the agenda of the following committee meeting.
