Our club once again hosted the BOP Interclub Teams on Sunday 28 July .We had a full turnout of 3 teams from each of 6 clubs in the BOP, 18 teams in all. This meant a full day of bridge; 5 ten board matches for each team against the other 5 other teams in their grade.
The day went exceedingly well and my thanks goes to all our players and other club members who provided help with setting up the room, food for the day and tidying the room afterwards.
Tauranga came out top on the day and therefore retained the IB Thulin Shield.
In the Open Grade Mt Maunganui were first and Tauranga were second. (Rotorua were third).
In the Intermediate Grade Tauranga were first and Te Puke were second. (Rotorua were fourth).
In the Junior Grade Taupo were first and Rotorua were second.
The top two teams in each grade will now compete against the Waikato clubs who have won their interclub. These finals will be held in Matamata at the end of August. All the best for our Junior team in this competition!
