A very successful tournament was held again in beautiful weather on Saturday. There were 29 tables, and players from 24 different clubs all over the North Island coming to enjoy the competition and the festive atmosphere, as well as the beautiful exhibition of quilts and the excellent food and hospitality.
Congratulations to the winners of the Spades Division, Jack James and Jeremy Fraser-Hoskin, from Palmerston North and Auckland respectively, and to the other winners – and all those who took part, and dressed up in the spirit of the occasion. Top in the Hearts Division were Megan Richards and Pamela Pedersen from Te Puke / Mt Maunganui, and in he Diamonds Division Rotorua members Leonie Pritchard and Mark Bendall.
Many thanks to all the club members who helped in various ways, in particular the hard-working and efficient kitchen team of Wendy Fraser, Julie Aitken and others. Special thanks to Ruth who has worked so hard over the years, making this such a popular and enjoyable tournament.
