The club held a very successful 5A Open Tournament on Saturday. There were 18 tables with entries from a range of other North Island clubs, as well as a good contingent of local players, and it was perfect bridge-playing weather! The players were treated to a delicious array of dishes for lunch – many thanks to the hard-working kitchen staff.
The overall winners were Patrick Carter and Julie Atkinson from Auckland and in second place were Richard Solomon and Rachelle Pelkman from the Franklin and Mt Maunganui clubs. The top-placed local pair and winners of the Marg Angus Trophy were Alan Dick and Heini Lux. Congratulations to all place-getters, some of whom are pictured here.
