Congratulations to the Tauranga Bridge Club, who are the winners of the BOP Interclub Teams Shield. Six clubs from around the region battled it out at Rotorua on Sunday, in Junior, Intermediate and Open grades, and Tauranga were the overall winners. Unfortunately Rotorua did not quite make it to the finals in any of the grades, although the Intermediate team finished a creditable third.
A good day was had by all, and everything went smoothly thanks to director Norm Silcock and scorer Jan Spaans. Many thanks to Wendy Fraser, Bev, Maryann and other helpers in the kitchen, and all those who brought plates to keep everyone well-fed through the day.
