The club held another successful Open Tournament on Saturday 14 June. Turnout was affected by cancellations due to winter illnesses, and we ended up with just 11 tables, but it was still a highly competitive field, with entries from a range of clubs, some travelling through heavy fog to get there! Congratulations to the winners Michael Curry and Blair Fisher from Hamilton. Richard Solomon and Anna Kalma from Te Aroha were runners-up.
Top Rotorua pair and winners of the Marg Angus Trophy were Marie Milsum and Margie Robbie, who were fourth overall.
Thank you to the organisers, those who brought plates, and the helpers in the kitchen, led by Wendy Fraser, who ensured there was plenty of delicious food on hand for morning and afternoon tea. As always it was expertly directed and scored by Norm Silcock and Jan Spaans respectively, who ensured everything ran smoothly.
