Alert Level 1 re-opening update

We are hopefully nearing the end of the ‘lockdown’ road! Gatherings of 100 are allowed as of midday Friday 29 May but we are still in Alert Level 2. Government has also announced that this will be reviewed on 8 June and with the possibility of a shift to Alert Level 1 on 22 June. As NZ Bridge recommends in the latest Advisory Newsletter 25 May 2020, clubs should be cautious and remain closed for a few more weeks.
As a committee we will be meeting next Tuesday 2 June to discuss when and how we will resume club bridge taking into consideration the Health and Safety recommendations from NZ Bridge. We very much hope that when we all feel safe to do so, we will enthusiastically embrace ‘in person’ bridge and the social engagement this provides. In the meantime, for what we hope is just a few more weeks, keep the bridge acumen up to the mark with your on-line play or home play in your extended bubbles.
We will report back after our meeting on 2 June 2020. Stay well and we hope to see you all in the near future.
